Age of Heroes is a collectible card game produced by Renegade Mage Games, a small American publisher founded by Andrew Borgstrom, set in an original fantasy world called Drakyre. The game was released in 1997 and is notable for its unconventional structure: rather than two players opposing each other directly, players assemble a party of Hero cards and pit them against a shared pool of Monster cards drawn from the deck. Defeating monsters earns Treasure cards divided into Weapons, Armor, Spells, and Items. In solitaire play, the score is calculated as the ratio of Monster defense points defeated to Hero cards lost. In multiplayer, all participants face the same monsters and compete for the highest score. This cooperative-against-the-game approach was unusual in the mid-1990s CCG landscape, which was dominated by direct player-versus-player combat systems. The game was sold as starter decks and booster packs through hobby distributors and is now out of print. Very little detailed documentation of its rules or card lists survives online.
