Bakegyamon is a trading card game produced by Takara, the Japanese toy and game company, based on the manga and anime franchise of the same name. The source franchise, BakeGyamon, was created by Mitsuhiro Tamura and serialized in Weekly Shonen Sunday from 2006 to 2007, running for 51 anime episodes on TV Tokyo. The story follows a boy named Sanshiro Tamon who is pulled into a backwards universe to compete in BakeGyamon, a monster-versus-monster game with a wish granted to the champion. Takara released physical card game products tied to the franchise, with individual cards documented from 2006 that feature characters from the series such as Gappei. Because the franchise was relatively short-lived and the card game was a regional Japanese product, detailed set lists and rulebooks are difficult to locate in English-language sources. Physical cards surface on secondary markets but structured documentation of the game system remains sparse.
