Battle Scenes is a Brazilian collectible card game designed by Fabian Balbinot and published by Copag, Brazil's largest playing card manufacturer, beginning in April 2013. The game was licensed around Marvel Comics characters and placed players in command of teams of heroes or villains competing across various scenarios. Its mechanics were deliberately designed to differ from established models such as Magic: The Gathering, Pokemon, and Yu-Gi-Oh!, and the game won Best Card Game at the Ludoawards in both the critics and public categories in 2013. The first collection contained 100 different cards. Several expansions followed, including Hidden Powers, Cosmic Invasion (the fifth collection), and Civil War in 2016. Copag officially discontinued distribution of the game in early 2018. At the time of its cancellation, a relaunch under a different publisher was hoped for but not realized. Battle Scenes remains notable as one of the most commercially visible collectible card games to have been produced in Brazil.
