Calorie Kids was an educational collectible card game published by Ocean of Wisdom in the United States, released in 2000. The game was designed to teach children the value of good nutrition through play, placing it in a small niche of health-literacy CCGs that emerged alongside the Pokemon-driven trading card boom of the late 1990s and early 2000s. Illustrator James Li created over 100 original characters for the cards and maintained an interactive companion website to support the game. The project reflected a broader effort by smaller publishers in the period to use the CCG format for educational ends, targeting schools and parents looking for alternatives to fantasy combat themes. Ocean of Wisdom appears to have been a boutique operation, and commercial distribution for Calorie Kids was limited. Precious little documentation of the game survives online beyond its listing in comprehensive CCG indexes and the designer's portfolio, placing it firmly among the overlooked novelties of the early collectible card era.
