Duel of Ages is a pre-constructed card game designed by Brett G. Murrell and published by Venatic Games, with the first set, Worldspanner, released in 2002. It is classified as a PCG (pre-constructed card game) rather than a CCG: players do not build customised decks but instead compete using fixed rosters of heroic characters drawn from across history and fantasy. Each session assembles random rosters from a large pool of character cards with varied attributes, and play centres on navigating a modular map to acquire equipment from labyrinths guarded by creature cards. The game supports two to sixteen players, making it unusual for its scale. Venatic released multiple numbered expansion sets over several years before the company went quiet. The game straddles the line between board game and card game, using the PAKIT modular board system alongside its card components.
