Guildes: La Quete des Origines is a French collectible card game published by Multisim in 1996, sharing its name and setting with a role-playing game released by the same publisher that same year. The two products are independent of one another: the card game is not a mechanical extension of the RPG, though both take place in the same fantasy universe called Cosme, a world reshaped by a great tidal wave that revealed a mysterious new continent rich in a magical substance called Loom. The CCG comprises 482 cards in total, distributed across commons, uncommons, rares, territory cards, and promotional pieces. Six factions, called Houses, define the game: the Felsins, the Kheyzas, the Gehemdals, the Ulmeqs, the Venn'dys, and the Ashragors. The Ashragor faction alone spans 54 illustrated cards in common through unique rarities, each measuring 10.5 by 15.5 centimetres. Designers credited include Gregory Benassar, Marc Hernandez, Fabrice Diez, Samuel Jacques, Cyrille Daujean, and Philippe Chartier. Guildes launched with significant promotional material but did not achieve commercial success and is now a collector's item. Surviving card lists and faction artwork are preserved on a handful of French fan sites.
