Gundam War Nex-A is a Japanese collectible card game published by Bandai, launched in autumn 2011 as a direct successor to the original Gundam War CCG, which had ended production earlier that same year after running continuously from 1999 and accumulating 28 expansions. Nex-A was designed to coincide with the premiere of Mobile Suit Gundam AGE, and its first booster set was heavily themed around that series. The game retained the core structure of its predecessor: players build 50-card Nation Pile decks and take turns deploying unit cards to battle, with the game ending when a Nation Pile is depleted. A selection of original Gundam War cards remained legal in the Nex-A format at launch, easing the transition for veteran players. Despite the redesign and fresh start, Nex-A did not match the longevity of the original game and was eventually discontinued, lasting roughly half as long. An English-language resource site and unofficial community supported the game outside Japan. The game is out of print.
