Hamtarot Card (known in Japanese as Hamutarotto Kado, sometimes rendered Hamtarot) is a Japanese collectible card series produced by Amada Printing MFG and released in July 2001, based on the Hamtaro franchise created by Ritsuko Kawai. The cards combine trading-card collectibility with a tarot-style aesthetic, reflected in the name blending Hamtaro with tarot. Amada Printing distributed the product through the Japanese Carddass vending system. Individual packs contained five cards each, and the series ran to over 150 unique cards across multiple release waves. In North America the first two waves were distributed by Artbox Entertainment, a subsidiary of Amada Printing, reaching North American shelves in 2003. Card artwork drew directly from Kawai's original character illustrations. The Hamtarot line is now out of print and is collected by Hamtaro merchandise enthusiasts. Documentation beyond fan wikis and secondary-market listings is limited, placing it squarely in the category of beloved minor CCGs whose game rules are more obscure than the character art they featured.
