Klopobek

Klopobek is a French collectible card game published by Le Cavernamuth in November 2005, designed explicitly as an anti-tobacco prevention tool aimed at children. The game was created by Perrine Bismuth, Pierre Bernat, Pierre-Henri Caquelin, and Ywan Penvern, with illustrations by Marc Goncalves, Santiago Montiel, and Bertrand Prevost. Its visual aesthetic echoes the grotesque "Crados" toys popular in France during the 1980s, presenting eight tribes of smelly, repulsive characters with names such as Pulaklops, Zenfumeurs, Zakros, Fum'Tatune, and Toxix. The base first edition set contains 110 different cards. Players compete to "decontaminate" themselves by discarding all their cards before opponents, with additional interactions including dares and duels. Booster packs of 9 cards retailed for 4.50 euros. Le Cavernamuth was founded by graduates of Sciences Po Paris to create edutainment products for young audiences on health and environmental themes. The game received coverage on the French board game community Tric Trac as well as in Belgian press.
