Franchise context: The write-up below is from the parent franchise article (anime, book series, or IP) rather than the card game itself. A dedicated CCG profile has not been written yet.

Mischievous Elves - Case Closed is a Japanese collectible card game published by Hudson in October 1999, released as the detective-fiction sibling to the same publisher's Ace File series. The game is based on the long-running Detective Conan manga and anime franchise, internationally known as Case Closed, created by Gosho Aoyama. Hudson published it as part of a dual-system product line under the Mischievous Elves umbrella, with this set offering basic card sets and starter packs themed around the mystery-solving cast of the series. The game arrived during a period when Conan merchandise was at a peak in Japan, and card game tie-ins were a standard part of that licensing landscape. Hudson, primarily a video game publisher, produced card products in this era to capitalize on their gaming and entertainment relationships. An English-language card game based on Detective Conan was later released in 2005 by Score Entertainment as the Case Closed TCG, a distinct and unrelated product. Detailed documentation of the Hudson release is sparse outside Japanese collector archives.
