Monster Gate is a Japanese collectible card game published by Konami in September 2002, released in conjunction with Konami's Monster Gate arcade medal-game series. The arcade games, beginning with the first Monster Gate title in 2001, used physical game cards as both gameplay tokens and collectibles that could be inserted into the arcade cabinet: a format common in Japanese arcade CCG hybrids of the period, where the card and machine formed an inseparable product ecosystem. Konami released the physical card component in three volumes, according to the Juggernauts CCG list, building a collectable set around the dungeon-crawling role-playing theme of the arcade titles. The Monster Gate arcade series ran through at least Monster Gate III (2003) and spawned Game Boy Advance ports, giving the card game an unusually broad cross-platform presence for its scale. Collectors can occasionally find card lots from this series, but detailed documentation of set contents, card counts, or gameplay rules has not been widely preserved in English-language sources.
