Monster Maker TCG: Resurrection is a Japanese collectible card game published by Epoch in August 2001. It draws on the Monster Maker franchise originally created by Ginichiro Suzuki and first published as a card-and-board game by Sho-Kikaku in 1988, a game that spawned novels, comics, and a long-running RPG line. The Resurrection TCG was the first entry in the Monster Maker family to adopt an open deck-construction format analogous to Magic: The Gathering, in contrast to the fixed-deck card games of earlier Monster Maker releases. For the first time in the franchise, the Resurrection set drew art from multiple illustrators rather than relying solely on the original artist, broadening the visual range of the set. Expansion sets were produced to extend the card pool. The game plays in approximately thirty minutes per session and was aimed at the existing Monster Maker fan community as well as the general CCG audience. A 30th anniversary remake of the original Monster Maker card game was published in 2017 by Arclight Games, attesting to the franchise's durability, though Resurrection itself has not been reprinted.
