PK Cards is an American collectible card game developed and published by PKXL Cards, Inc., founded in 2006 by Brandon Selvaggio and Branden Pelok in Mentor, Ohio. The first set, titled The Broken Seal, pre-released in November 2008 and officially debuted at New York's Toy Fair in February 2009. The set contained 366 cards across four core decks (Red, Yellow, Blue, and Grey) sold alongside booster packs. Gameplay used a trick-taking structure called sorties, in which players deploy troop cards with attack and defense values across seven rounds, with elemental trump relationships (Water beats Fire, Fire beats Metal) determining outcomes. Players aimed to accumulate seven Prestige points to win. PKXL maintained its own printing facility in Mentor and supported an online companion platform, PK Online, launched in January 2010. Despite distribution through hobby shops and convention appearances including Gen Con, sales were insufficient to sustain the company, which ceased operations in 2011.
