Powerstorm was a superhero customizable card game designed by Lee Valentine and published by Veritas Games Company, with an initial release in March 2007. The game launched under a licence from Top Cow Productions and was notable as the first Top Cow card game in nearly a decade at the time of its release. The inaugural set centred on the Cyberforce and Strykeforce comics, coinciding with the fifteenth anniversary of Cyberforce, with The Darkness offered as a promotional card and Witchblade, Hunter/Killer, and The Magdalena slated for future expansions. Gameplay relied on bidding and bluffing mechanics that critics compared favourably to Texas Hold'em, and the game shipped with two rule sets: a simplified Training Wheels version for newcomers and a full Comprehensive Rules set for tournament play. Scrye Magazine described it as an intensely strategic game that favours decision-making over luck. The game was non-collectible in format, using fixed customizable decks rather than random booster packs.
