Franchise context: The write-up below is from the parent franchise article (anime, book series, or IP) rather than the card game itself. A dedicated CCG profile has not been written yet.

Ragnarok is a Japanese collectible card game published by Broccoli, the Tokyo-based anime and merchandise publisher, in October 2004. The game is based on Ragnarok Online, the massively multiplayer online role-playing game developed by the South Korean studio Gravity and released in Korea in 2002. Ragnarok Online drew on the Norse mythology-inflected manhwa Ragnarok by Lee Myung-jin, and its card game adaptation by Broccoli carried over the fantasy job classes, monsters, and world design that had made the MMORPG popular in Japan. Broccoli also produced licensed storage accessories and character merchandise for the Ragnarok Online property. The card game remained a Japan-only release and was distinct from the later online card game version of Ragnarok TCG developed by Gravity and Zeonix. Physical cards from the Broccoli edition appear occasionally in vintage Japanese card-game collector listings.
