Shinra-Bansho is a Carddass trading card game published by Bandai in Japan and launched on June 28, 2006. The game is a spin-off of the enormously successful Shinra Bansho Chocolate series, which debuted in March 2005 and eventually sold over 100 million units. While the chocolate-wafer collectible is a narrative collectible rather than a game, the 2006 Carddass TCG version reused the series' character artwork on cards whose lower panels carry gameplay statistics and combat information. A starter set and an initial booster line were released at launch, with a second booster set titled Battle 2 following on September 27, 2006. No further expansions were produced, leaving the game line defunct after a single year. Because the cards are inexpensive on the secondary market and the chocolate card series remains well documented, the TCG variant is often overlooked by collectors. It falls squarely within Bandai's Carddass tradition of lightweight battle card games accompanying popular media properties.
