Skateboarding Must Die is a trading card game produced by Sir Mantraplay Productions in collaboration with Birdhouse Skateboards, the company co-founded by Tony Hawk. The game was published in two edition-one parts: Part One (Vegalas, 126 cards) and Part Two (Socalia, 118 cards), with card illustrations by Thomas P. Reidy III. The game's fictional setting casts skateboarding as an illegal activity pursued by rebels against hostile gangs, tourists, and a repressive police force. Players build decks incorporating places to skate, money, equipment, people, and linked trick sequences, earning Stoke points for chained moves, with 360 Stoke points required to win (a number chosen as a nod to the 360-degree trick). Dropping to zero Stoke means defeat. Packs contained 14 cards and a minimum of 30 cards was recommended for play. The game was profiled in the trade press at the time of its release, and sealed boxes and individual packs remain on the secondary market. The exact release year is unconfirmed in available sources, though collector listings suggest a mid-2000s timeframe.
