Tomb Raider Mars16 Series is a highly unusual collectible card game released in the United Kingdom in November 2001 by the Japanese T-shirt company Mars-16. The product used a T-shirt as the primary game board: the shirts (sold in two designs, Cave and Build, each in three colors) featured a printed layout on the back dividing it into seven key zones labeled for card placement, including areas for character decks, magic trap decks, and short-range slots. Each shirt included a serial number on the left sleeve used as part of gameplay. Booster packs reportedly contained all 100 card types, though researchers examining secondary-market listings have estimated the total card pool at approximately 156 cards. The original rulebook has been lost, and the precise mechanics are no longer recoverable with confidence. Products were promoted at the 2001 Tokyo Motor Show and sold through Capcom retail channels and the Mars-16 website. Sales of the product ceased by April 2008. The game represents one of the more unconventional CCG formats of the era, blending wearable merchandise with card-game mechanics in a way that was essentially unprecedented.
