Ultra Gate

Ultra Gate is a Japanese collectible card game published by Marukoshi and released in 1996. Like Ultra Battle Zone, it is based on the Ultraman franchise from Tsuburaya Productions. Marukoshi was among the earlier publishers to produce card game products based on Ultraman-related properties in the mid-1990s, during the period when Ultraman Tiga (1996) reinvigorated public interest in the franchise after a long gap in television production. The game predates the Carddas-era Bandai Ultraman releases that followed later in the same decade and into the 2000s. Beyond its publisher, country of origin, and franchise basis, documentation of Ultra Gate's specific rules, card counts, or set structure has not been preserved in accessible collector or hobbyist sources. The game is out of print and represents an early entry in the Ultraman card game lineage that eventually led to more elaborate productions from larger publishers.
