Youkaizer

Youkaizer is a Japanese collectible card game published by Bandai in June 1998. The title combines the Japanese word yokai (supernatural spirit) with the suffix -zer, suggesting a game centered on battling or collecting monstrous supernatural entities in a stylized action framework, consistent with the creature-battle card game format that Bandai was producing extensively during that era. Released at a time when Bandai was actively developing card game products alongside arcade and toy lines, Youkaizer fits a pattern of late-1990s Japanese CCGs that bridged the gap between sticker card collections and proper deck-based games. Almost no English-language documentation of the game survives online, and Japanese-language sources offer only passing references.
