Yu-Gi-Oh! Rush Duel is a standalone card game published by Konami in Japan from April 2020, developed as a simplified and more action-oriented alternative to the long-running Yu-Gi-Oh! OCG. The format was created in parallel with the Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS anime, in which the game is invented by protagonist Yuga Ohdo as a faster, more accessible style of dueling. Rush Duel departs from OCG rules in several fundamental ways: players draw up to five cards each turn rather than one, Normal Summons are unlimited per turn, and the field has only three monster zones and three spell/trap zones with no Main Phase 2. Rush Duel cards are not compatible with the OCG or TCG. The game remained a Japan-and-Korea exclusive through its active print run and expanded into a second anime tie-in, Yu-Gi-Oh! GO RUSH!!, which aired from 2022. Konami wound down new Rush Duel product releases in Japan in late 2024, closing out the format after four years of continuous sets.
