Z/X Zillions of enemy X (abbreviated Z/X, pronounced Zekusu) is a trading card game co-developed by Broccoli and Nippon Ichi Software, launching in Japan in July 2012 with a deliberately accessible entry point: free starter decks were distributed through participating card shops, making it the first Japanese TCG to formally advertise a free-to-start model. The game's premise involves five Black Points, interdimensional gates that open on a near-future Earth and allow inhabitants of five parallel worlds to pour through and wage war for control of the timeline. Gameplay is a two-player contest on a three-by-three grid, with players assembling decks around one or more of the five faction colors and racing to dominate key board positions. Booster releases followed on a roughly four-month schedule, with early sets titled Encounter with the Parallel Worlds, Roar of the Titans, and Advent of the Five Dragon Emperors among others. The franchise expanded into manga serialized in V Jump, two anime television series (Z/X Ignition in 2014 and Z/X Code reunion in 2019), and a PlayStation 3 video game. Z/X has remained in print in Japan and continues to receive new releases.
